This is how a started .

8 years ago i started a H0 track around the Christmas tree , my dad used to have a large HO track in the basement .
over the years a collected HO and start to build a trck in a room upstairs , butt i wasn,t happy , i,m a garden men , i can sit in the house .
From a friend i heard about G scale , so there was one thing to do ..how to explain to the misses .

Honey .. i wil sell the H0 and buy G scale ..She .. you are what ?? .. me .. ups time to play smart ..they do have coca cola trains in G-scale , She .. oooo okay .. if you promise me a coca cola train i is okay ..Me .. DEAL DONE .

So i sold every thing and started a small track in the garden ,over time more and more children where coming up to my front garden .

First gardenrail track :

Last 2015 , i completely whipped out my first track ,and started to build te new and bigger one ,so children have mire space to ride and play with trains .
To me it is important that kids play outside , in the hallway is a closed where the can take what they like and put them on the track .
But !!.. cleanup afterwards .
Also children with handicap ,ore are ill i wil help to enjoy the track ,,with a little bit of help the can enjoy .

On holidays like x-mass and Halloween and others its a whole other world .

Halloween 2015:

The scenery is a little bit different , i only have scenery with trigger there knowledge , like jurrasic park , smurftown moustown , and there wil come more themes just simple things they recognize .
Not for play but to trigger there fantasy .
So now the can play on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday .

But its not all for the children .. there is still me ,who likes to ride to ..
We love to sit in the garden and see the trains roll by , just drinking coffee with neighbors and friends .
I also do not need the biggist and the finest , i like everything thats roll , loco ore car , i prefer used materials ,even broken , i will fix them so children have new trains or cars to play with .
ore make 1 out of 2 ore 3 items ,ore parts .

A very interesting use of lighting and scenery! You have put a different perspective on our hobby and I like the fact that your railway has been created with the children in mind to stmulate their interests. Well done.

The lightning was a barging at a local store (summer sale ) solar led lights spots .
The windmill is powered by a 5A trafo with leds , also wil the wicks be powered with a small motor ,.
My friend peter (who build the mallet ) is also a technical engineer and is making the unit for it , so the wicks are turning slowly .
The same power unit in the mill can be used as a distribution for other lightings in the garden .

Well ,about the children .

I personally know what it is to be wealthy (money) and be, and well..just have less to spend , and what children with needs or handicap need .or what will make them smile , i have 2 children with special needs .
And trains are one of the thing that make ever child smiling .. aspacialy G-cale because of the size H0 the know but G scale .. maby the seen it ,but i like it to let children ore people to touch the trains , feel what it likes to handlle it .

Beside ,what are children playing these day,s , not like we use to do when we were kids , these day,s its al about gaming ,smart-phone ect .
So i share my hobby

There is Bachmann - although they seem to have cut back on production. I use ebay to spot bargains - the only thing I would say is that the build quality (in a lot of their models) is not as good as LGB.
Then there is USA Trains, Hartland, Aristocraft (only available second hand or clearance stock as the company are no longer in business).

The other european companies are Piko - they make some nice models - and Playmobil (radio controlled and aime at children). Good hunting!

The newer models seems to bee bether ,but more expencif

In two weeks i will pick up a aristocraft 4-6-2 santa fe , needs a liitlebit of tlc and a lot of love . its runs fine ,only sound mast be reinstalled and a new steamer .

I realy love the inglisch models in G , what brand are they ..ore are the mostly handcrafted ?

A little update

Yesterday i started a little rebuild of one part of the track .

Now its runs better then in the old situation .

I've no experience of English models in G. I tend to build things that are considered the more obscure G models.
Accucraft make some really lovely models in both live steam and track powered electric.

A lttle update about the windmill .

yesterday i rebuild a small section in the Garden .
A neighbor asked me if i was interested in used wall like stone , if not he threw them away .
Well .. it will do the job

Hi

There was a little change the last vieuw day .

I upgraded analog and Digital power , from a 15A home build power unit to a 5A analog unit and roco z21 digital unit .

The old 15A unit i donated to a father and child who are only have a 0.7A lgb unit , and do not have a lot to spend , i know how that feels , i started te same way


The z21 works fine ..with a lot of possibilities , more than LGB mzs 3 can offer and 90% cheaper then massoth , if you accept the 3.5A power output , a booster up to 5 or 7.5A is in progress .
Still +- 100 euro for a new z21 , it wil do the job on G-scale .

My wifi range on the z21 on my network 100+ meters , i only tested sound because i could,nt see whats happening , i did from over a 100 meters away ,a small moving test .

=The LCE is normlyy for the children to Play with , believe me , than she is running as fast as she can on the outside track .

Time for the things i wanted to do at the beginning of 2016 , but because my wife was, or is sik , i didend have the energy .(cancer)
Solast munday i started , al the tracks are removed , to refill with new split , i also changed the in and exit to the middeltrack .
That was a quick fix with R1 kurves , now i chanched the distance , en putt in some R2 kruves .

Now i,m waiting for the new split

That looks better with R2 curves, and you don't have the short "zig-zag" just after the point any more.
