Michigan Centrail Railroad and the Autism Express

Here are some pics of my freshly rehablitated garden railway. Railway lay dorment since mid summer last year. Motive power is a pair of Kalamazoo Toy Trains 4-4-0's. One powers the freight service to the ore mines and the other powers the Autism Express passenger train. I built the special passenger train to help bring awareness and acceptness to others like myself that are on the spectrum. Both 4-4-0's are converted to onboard battery power. RIght now there is no speed control, the full power of the battery is a nice sedate speed. I do want to add a "critter controler" to both engines in the future. I also just got a live steamer, a custom Accucraft Ruby with a coal fired boiler built by Larry Herget. I am undecided if I am going to stay with this engine. I have had gas fired ones in the past and while the coal is neat, it might be more stress than I want to deal with when running trains. Stress and being autistic do not go well together. If I trade off the coal burner, it will have to be for an engine that can handle LGB R1 curves. Really would love a 4 or 6 coupled Merlin engine, or a Pearse Countess! Cheers Mike

The link from your first pic worked well. Nice line! Did you do the lettering on the coaches? It looks a very professional job!

They are professionaly made decals done by Stan Cederleaf, So yes it does give a professionaly done look to the cars. I thought the colorful Kalamazoo engine suited the train as well. I can't wait to take the train to as many open days as I can this summer. Mike
