Merlin Matterhorn

I have been asked to evaluate a Merlin Matterhorn. This is from a deceased estate. It has some cosmetic bits missing but ran well on a bench test.
Can anyone tell me how much it is worth as they want to sell it? The engine is in New Zealand.
Also the operating instructions in the manual are very simple, that is fill the boiler, fill the gas and lubricator and light. What is the correct grade of steam oil for Merlin locos? Do you need to remove some water from the boiler as with Roundhouse engines?
Any assistance would be most welcome.

Normal Steam Oil in the steam line reservoir if there is one, external moving parts 20/50 engine oil was recommended to me by Mr. Merlin many years ago. Certainly a small amount of water out after filling to the brim as with Roundhouse, 15-20ml or so.

As for price, hm tricky not a lot as they can be a bit if an issue even if they are found to be a runner. I would suggest a Boiler Test and if Gas Fired a Gas Tank Test, if there is a 16mm group any where nearby they would be able to help and also perhaps suggest a price. If you are lucky there may even be someone willing to part cash for it.

I have had 4 Merlins in my time so can speak from a bit of experience, all were moved in early this Centuary.
