hello i have received today a Massoth 8156001 from a forum member. Im trying to get the sw4 channel working for a EPL drive . I have done a reset and set up the first 3 epl switches to work correctly but im having trouble with SW4.

Reading the instructions i have made sure CV65 and CV66 are set to 0/deactivated to enable the 4th channel, i have set CV38 to 12. Nothing is happening when i try to use 12 switch on my navi.

Any help is welcome. Thanks

What address are the first three channels using?

The previous owner may have set port 4 to be a light switch or something other than a point motor. I see you have done a reset, but did you do a full reset(CV7 = 55 and CV7 = 77)?

As I read it:
Set CV2=77
Set CV65=0
Set Cv66=0
Set CV38=12
Set CV2=0

You may have to alter bit 8 of CV 49 ??

Hi Phil. Yes that is what I have done. I have just done a full reset and set up as you described. I'm unsure what you mean about cv49. What do I need to do to that?. Thanks

That is where my help falls down..
It is the one bit of the manual, where the German is reproduced in the English section!
Hopefully, one of our European members can shed light on it? - Rather than my guesses!!

Firstly, there are 2 versions of the 8156001 - the first versions could only drive 3 EPL drives, later 4 channel. They had the designation 530S & 540S.

Can you read CV 37 and 38?
What happens if you write a value to CV 38 and then try to read it back?

What is the software version - read CV7 ?

Also, open the unit up, there should be a small label ... I believe that it will have SW4 on it if it is a 4 channel unit. I cant check an old 3 channel unit at this time.

If it is a later 540S 4 switch type........ and not the earlier 530S 3 switch type.

Then as SW1 to SW3 work as normal therefore "bit 6" is set correctly, as SW4 does not appear to operate in switch motor function mode then "bit 7" needs to be looked at, may well be set as a single function.................

CV 7 reset only alters the listed CV's,
does not change CV 49, it may well contain a value of 128, try changing CV 49 to 0..........
