Hi Folks,

Apologies for returning to this . . . but . . . . My garden railway is not track powered but I have a fiendish plan to power my points using solar/battery setups. My first question is: can this be done without track power? Second: will this work with only 12 Volts battery power? Third: what parts do I need to convert those points which need converting from manual to electric (is it just LGB 12010?). Fourthly, if I want a visual indication of points setting can I add in LGB 12040 (lighted points lantern). Fifthly (is that a word?): does the 12040 have LED or filament type bulbs? Thanks for your advice . . . .and patience (in advance):)

1. Yes with DC battery power.

2. Possibly but 18V might work better. Try it and see.

3. You will need the point motors and either the LGB box that switches points or panel mounted switches. I've used the Gaugemaster ones they supply for G Scale GM 511 but you wouldn't need the diodes, so look for the same type without them.

4. Yes they fit onto the point motor.

5. They have a filament lamp....

GM 511 will not work, as they are for use with an AC supply. - Hence the diodes..

But you already have switches to do this sorted.
(Extra stock arrived today..)
