It doesn't matter how well I clean my engines, the next time they're taken out, they are still covered in crude. I'm sure the engines are having a laugh at my expense, like a dog who finds a muddy puddle as soon as it's had a bath

Oily messy things are going to collect dust like a dust mite, even after cleaned there will still be traces of oil. I got fd up of cleaning mine after every running day years ago.
 
It's messy hobby, agreed. Just that trapped moisture and steel axles don't mix well. Worthwhile trying to dry it out thouroughly before the winter lay-over.
