I have a GRS Peckett that launches the safety valve cover off of the engine when the safety valve opens. The openings under the dome are clear and not blocked, 4 passage that I can see light through. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for this?

Asked around yesterday, and the only answer that came up is that something is blocked, but as you say it all seems clear, it seems odd. One thing how tight is the cover? There's usually an O ring or something to keep it in place
The O-ring is in place on the safety valve, and it requires a strong push to seat the safety valve cover into place. I think what is happening is that the safety valve pin is striking the bottom of the safety valve cover when it reaches release pressure. The cover is launched with considerable force into the air when the safety valves "pops" off. I have taken a small round diamond bit to the inside of the cover and removed material at the center of the cover to see if this might make a difference when in operation. I will have to wait till the weekend to see if this makes a difference.
