Looking for Playmobil spare parts or parts number

I bought a few years ago, second hand, a few Playmobil coaches and a motorless steam engine for my grandchildren to push on the track or couple with a PM RC trainset.
Unfortunately they managed to break the bogies in one of them, so I cannot replace the couplings. I am enclosing a photograph of the coach model as well as of the broken bogies (last photograph)IMG_0861.JPGIMG_0862.JPGIMG_0863.JPGIMG_0864.JPGIMG_0865.JPGIMG_0866.JPGIMG_0867.JPG which bear following reference: A 3172631.
I have searched on Playmobil website but cannot find the item, probably due to the fact it is too old. I wonder, however if anyone would have such bogies for sale or could indicate to me where I could possibly purchase them.
I am also enclosing a photograph of another bogie ref 3210250 and a chassis which I don't use and am giving away.

As you are in Belgium (?) the postage on this might be more affordable (than the postage quoted which is to the UK) . . .

Thanks but this one looks like the one I am giving away, mine have nothing in the hole and they clip on the chassis whereas the one on the picture seems to be screwed. My bogies date back to 1980 so maybe they changed the way to fix them.

Sorry. I hadn't realised that there were two different versions of the bogie. HOWEVER, have you tried fixing the one you have spare? I've looked at my Playmobil wagons and while most are of the older type (open hole), I have one coach that has the version I pictured above, and it is the same four spring clips on the coach chassis that hold it in place, and the centre hole is unused (not a screw fixing). The four "extra" cross pieces do nothing to impede the swivel of the bogie (at least not to any greater extent than on the original version).

There are Playmobil experts on here (and I'm not one of them) who will pop up with good advice soon, but my own checks suggest the two styles of bogie are interchangeable (though the coupling hooks, and the way they are attached, seem to differ).

Cheers

David is correct. The one you are giving away appears to be the newer bogies which takes the weighted hooks. The broken bogies appear to be the older style which take the hooks with springs. Both styles of bogies should be compatible with the frames and interchangeable. The bits in the center hole of the newer bogies should not interfere with operation on an older frame.

The only issue would be which hooks to use on which bogies. The older bogies can be modified to take the newer hooks better by removing the spring holder, but the newer bogies don't really have a place for the springs of the older hooks to connect. There are instructions on modifying the older bogies to take newer hooks in an image at the bottom of Walt's site here: Hints & Tips

You can also attempt to repair the broken loops.
I've used epoxy putty to replace missing sections of loop, and to repair broken springs:

Instead of giving away your newer bogie, you should use it in place of one of the broken ones. Then you'd only need one more bogie, or you would only need to repair one loop. And in the meantime you could keep the broken loop at the rear of the train where it's not used.

Thank you to both of you. Now David showed both bogies under each other I realised that the spare bogie should fit on my chassis, the "pins" passing through the holes between the cross elements (sorry but I cannot find a decent English word to name them). I'll check with my hooks and, if it does not work, I'll order two hooks and one bogie.

I found a bogie in France but have still to confirm the purchase and I have followed your advice and used the bogie I wanted to give away and equipped it with a recent type of hook, not the one with a plastic spring but with a heavy tail and test ran it. It is luckily working, I say luckily because you don't find hooks of the other type anymore and besides I have a few of the new type. Thanks again for your help.

I have noticed that the newer hooks don't always stay on the older bogies very well; not because of the spring holder, but because the tab that fits through the hole of the new hook is too loose fitting. Increasing the girth of that tab with some carefully placed tape might help if you attempt to place a newer hook onto an older bogie. The tip about cutting the spring holder off is unnecessary in my opinion; it is not worth risking an old rare part by cutting it, when there is a chance you may eventually find an old spring hook to match it. It works well enough without cutting the spring holder.

Thank you for the advice, I'll follow your tip if it happens. In fact I just placed the hook on the bogie and did not cut anything although I initially intended to get my Dremel!

David and -bbbb helped a lot and said min things.
Most elements of Playmobil are interchangeable with each other
It works for frames and couplings,
in following Walt's instructions for hook.

Maybe you could have a look at Ebay.de
You could find spare parts that you need with reasonable price for items not too rare
Freight cost should be reasonable too as Belgium is close to Germany

I found a supplier in France who specialises in Playmobil spare parts on ebay, the problem I have at the moment is that France being a neighbour, we have a delivery company you can collect your parcel from, at lower rates, but I cannot finalise the order. ebay called me a few minutes ago and we should find a solution. (Freight charges from Germany are much higher).
