Logging Camp

Shawn

Hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing
The crew took advantage of the nice weather and got the bunks loaded up on some flat cars. Operations went smooth and everything was put in place with no problems.
Bunks loaded up at the Hainsville yard. The guys are just waiting for Mr Russel to wake up so they can get the train moving.

Spar tree/loader was put up. Next the guys have to work on the skid road so they can pull logs from the cutting area to the loader.

Brilliant - shed loads of interest! 10 out of 10 for lateral thinking. Looks the bees knees.

Like them alot  they look fantastic Shawn

They look excellent, I can almost smell the newly sawed wood.

This is the reason I started my tramway in G scale..... the detail one can go into is amazing. Shawn you have captured the very essence off timber milling, brilliant work.... I may place an order for some timber tram waiting sheds.....

Brilliant! Looks like you have 4 sheds :D
Love the Climax A too, are they still available I wonder.........
Thanks The Class A in my pictures is actually scratch built. The flatcar was built from scratch using cedar as well as the sides and cab. The boiler and water tank was made from a PVC pipe. Then I added details from ozarks and used the Aristo Craft center cab trucks. USA trains also has trucks that would work. Ozarks also has a kit and I think it is nicer then the other one mentioned unless its the same not sure. But I know there are 2 kits for the class A.

Thanks guys. Its always nice to hear what everyone else thinks. Im not very good at judging my own work.
Back on the RR the guys started to lay some timber for the new skid road. Still have to get some new harnesses for the ox to attach to the logs. Weather started out wet from thunderstorms last night. As soon as the ground dries work will continue.

During some track inspection the guys found the old log car that wrecked during one of the snow storms. Its in good shape but too much work to get it out of Red Rock

Your whole Railroad is looking fantastic Shawn just love all the small details that brings every thing to life

The the crew finally got the flat car detailed up and the steam Donkey loaded. Now they can transport the steam donkey where its needed. (in real life it serves as my battery car) They guys bought the steam Donkey because it would have cost them more in parts if they built it from scratch.

Absolutely lovely railway.

When we were on Vancouver Island we visited Maclean Mill museum and the British Columbia Forrestry Museum in Duncan. Having had no previous knowledge of the logging industry I can fully understand why these are a great subject to model.

Nice scene Shawn  i can almost smell the bacon here
