Unfortunately,Enjoyed my visit. Picked up an LGB U-Class motor block for £40, and a multi-meter (for £7.50) from Phil's stand, plus some Superglue and filler from a very enthusiastic and pleasant lady on another stand.
Disappointed with the catering, though. One coffee trailer (though good quality) and a pizza van. Was forced to buy a hot dog from a roadside burger van on the way home.

A very rare siting these days. There used to be hundreds of roadside vans, but now very rare. Was forced to buy a hot dog from a roadside burger van on the way home.
To be strictly accurate, it was a layby-side burger container cafe (or two containers welded together), just off Broxton roundabout on the A534 between Nantwich and Wrexham.A very rare siting these days. There used to be hundreds of roadside vans, but now very rare.

Wow lots of Welsh Rarebit to go for there. To be strictly accurate, it was a layby-side burger container cafe (or two containers welded together), just off Broxton roundabout on the A534 between Nantwich and Wrexham.

Clearly, the Google Maps Street View driver felt the layby was significant enough to make a detour.
Interestingly, it is on the site of Broxton Station on the abandoned line between Chester and Whitchurch.

The second photo shows them loading soft fruit from local nurseries. Which is what inspired me to include soft fruit traffic on the PLR which is hypothetically located a couple of miles away.
Edit: Sorry, just checked and the photo shows them loading cheese. Looks like I may have to add another source of traffic on the PLR

Just remembered, I asked for a *cheesy* hot dog. My subconscious must have kicked in.Wow lots of Welsh Rarebit to go for there.
I would say similar to last year? - We have not had feedback on numbers, yet..How was the show ? busy as usual ?
Sorry to hear that. The only negative I have heard so far, has been about catering.
But that was because the main onsite caterer, had a sudden medical emergency, so was (I believe) in hospital.
PhilP.
I have trouble with McD's ordering screen, and some others - my fingers are not warm enough, and I can't get the screens to accept any inputSorry to hear that.
A pity they didn't put up a note explaining.
Still, I did get my cheesy hot dog on the way home.
The only time I have a burger or hot dog is when I go to GR festivals and the village fete. I did once go to a Macdonald's in a motorway services but found the on screen ordering process bewildering. All I wanted was a bog standard cheese burger but kept getting offered all sorts of extra stuff I didn't want, so in the end, I left without ordering.

As policy I do not use screens in restraint's, burger joints or the Tesco that has recently changed to screen push button tech. Slippery slope if you ask me, which you did’nt.I have trouble with McD's ordering screen, and some others - my fingers are not warm enough, and I can't get the screens to accept any input![]()
