This is my first post since saying Hello in new members, since then I have collected some trains and track together, in the hope of moving to a new place after the bungalow was left to us, is sold.
In the mean time I am hoping someone can help with a Aristo Milkado live steam engine I have a problem, with the Gas filling and water topping up. With the Butane Gas filling looks like I need an adapter of some sort and on looking there seems a few different ones,

Also have a similar problem with the refill of the boiler under pressure, all I had with the engine was the piece of tube you see in the pic along with the Goodall valve I bought, I don't see how the valve is used unless I still have missing items, I have a pump bottle, Jacksons Superior Water top up bottle, I had a note with the piece of tube to say screw it on the plastic pipe on the bottle?.

Also does anyone know if it is easy to change the Ni-CD battery as that seems to be past it's best.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum.
I think you might need one of these for the gas: Gas Adapter Long | Garden Railway Specialists Tel:01844 345158
but it would be best to check -it depends on which gas canisters you decide to use. Other stores (online and actual) are available, but GRS are good and although a good distance from you, it's a good day out. They'll even brew you a cuppa.
The water filler bottle needs the brass tip fitting onto the flexible tube: it fits into a taper in the Goodall valve.
Others will pitch in with more, and better, information.
Oh, and jokes. Lots of really dreadful jokes. Don't say you weren't warned.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum. Patrick Northsider Northsider has pretty well covered your issues, but having gone into the dark art of live steam it may be worth your while joining the 16mm society. Though they are heavy in the 32 gauge they are not bound to it exclusively. There are groups Cambridge and Newmarket, East Anglia, Lincoln and Peterborough that may or may not be close enough for you to attend with your loco and get some meaningful face to face help. Even joining could push you towards a more local for you live steam buff.

Thanks for your reply, I will try the gas adapter, but the brass tube I have does not fit in the Goodall valve I have so I might have to find more information

Hullo Dave,

I know that a lot of G1 folks meet at Stonham, just off the A140 near Needham Market....

That is definitely a good idea, there is a group that meet at Bressingham, which I believe is quite close to you

The Jackson superior bottle should have a brass tip on the flexible tube that will fit a Goodall valve. I'm not sure why yours hasn't -is it a new purchase?
