It only pivits side to side . Could that be a problem? Can the pony truck move sideways at the pivot or does it only swivel on the center fixing?
I assume the main loco wheels do not pivot on the chassis?
Just found a picture of an alternative. You will see how they have moved the pivot point forward so that the truck more closely follows the curve behind the drive wheels - which are fixed to the chassis.
Also, it looks as if the truck can also pivot on the swinging bar.

the front wheels will be tackled after the back wheels. Sorry I'm not sure if the pony truck is the front one or the back. And is the the boogie truck the back lol. Thanks the pictures will help tremendously.I had a problem with a Buddy L loco and its' single axle pony. I was going to move the pivot point but, in the end, I added weight to stop it lifting out or climbing the rails.
As was....,

....and as it is now (which solved the problem)....

I'm not saying this will solve your problem, but it got mine to go round R1's and the reverse curves of same radii.
Thanks for the info. Sounds good to me.As I understand it....
A 'Pony truck' is a single axle, articulated to guide the loco, and distribute weight(?) - Also believe it can be front, or rear.
A bogie truck is where you have two axles (hence bogie). It may pivot on its' centre, when it is probably just a bogie, or on an arm, when it becomes a truck.
But someone who knows these things will be along to correct me in a minute!![]()
What do you mean? No pun intended? Why on earth not? Everyone else would mean it!That looks like you are on the right track - no pun intended!
You're obviously doing something right, it looks a brilliant modelthe front wheels will be tackled after the back wheels. Sorry I'm not sure if the pony truck is the front one or the back. And is the the boogie truck the back lol. Thanks the pictures will help tremendously.
Awesome. Please share pictures when you start bashing. You've given me a couple ideas for my Lil Bug Maulers![]()

I could be wrong but that looked like an LGB Radius 1 Point to me. I think earlier on you possibly quoted Diameter where we all tend to talk Radius on Curves that being of course Half of the Diameter.Well thanks to all the help I got from you guys we are making progress . I have more cutting to do but it stays on the track at least now. Still needs tweaking.
For some reason I can't seem to wrap my head around the system of how they are numbered.I could be wrong but that looked like an LGB Radius 1 Point to me. I think earlier on you possibly quoted Diameter where we all tend to talk Radius on Curves that being of course Half of the Diameter.
