Lil big hualer saddle tank loco bash.

I am thinking of adding more detail parts from the big hualer. Generator, bell, whistle and a pipe on side things I've seen in pictures on loco's. I need to learn the placement of things so I can make it at least a little beliveable. And I am putting the rear light up on top of the cab roof. I also am thinking of putting these rivet strips I made on the tank. Not sure if I like it or not. This hobby is addicting now I've taken over the dining room table lol.IMG_20180122_095120741.jpg IMG_20180122_104807677.jpg IMG_20180122_095150398.jpg IMG_20180122_095159098.jpg IMG_20180122_104839026.jpg

Ah, the joy of a 'pimped' engine bay!:clap::clap:

I had the accelerator cable snap just above the pedal on my Renault 5 (many years ago..). M6 motorway, on way into work, morning rush-hour..
Pulled the central cable out of the outer in the engine compartment. A chamois leather over the body work, back corner of the bonnet (hood), and in through the slightly open window.. Just long enough for a pair of locking 'Mole-grips', and it got me the remainder to work with a 'hand-throttle'. :)

Braver than me lol

Doubtless even longer ago I snapped the accelerator cable on my Lambretta on the way home from work. Screwed the carb. tickover screw fully in and got home O.K. Gear changing with a high reving engine was interesting!

You probably couldn't do that on a modern car, trying to find anything in them hard enough!

Manage any wheelies? My mate used to do em on his Lam.

You dont need a clutch. A couple of times I have driven home with no clutch. You just need to know your gearbox and have a good starter and battery!

What was it..

I don't know. The mechanic said not to worry about it 'cause I didn't need it. Kind of like the Stainz, it just keeps going and going and going. . . . . . .

When I got my wife into the VW thing she brought a 73 Jeans Beetle. Not in bad shape but in need of a little work.

Accelerator cable snapped on the way home one evening.

No problem. I crawled into the passenger foot-well, removed the cable cover and managed to grab the end of the severed cable. I pulled it by hand for the required acceleration, whilst my wife shouted "change" each time I needed to release the throttle for gear changes. Got home without fuss, although not being able to see what was going on from my position was a bit nail biting.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: So not having ever had my question answered in terms my brain could comprehend, just how was the VW semi-automatic supposed to be handled ? I was told to leave it in either first or second gear and just go.

Of course, it just dawned on me that you are speaking of a manual transmission.....

I thought this was a thread about Little Big Haulers. It seems to have been switched to one about automobiles. Automobile threads belong elsewhere.

No, it absolutely belongs here. You are just experiencing levels of G Scale Central thread drift within the established norms. Normal service will resume in three or four pages. :)

Ok . Getting some detail pieces on . And I had a old Bluetooth speaker that it took the guts out of that fits in the boiler with slits cut in it to let the sound out. I tried to do a outside track test today and it kept jumping the track. I never thought that it would be to long for two of my turnouts. They are 5 ft . I have purchased to New wide radius turnouts so it should fix the problem.IMG_20180123_005411109.jpg IMG_20180123_013155022.jpg IMG_20180122_104807677.jpg IMG_20180123_013155022.jpg

Think I would be inclined to do a a retest to see exactly what is causeing the Jumping Off the track. If you do this really slow with your eye close to the track the cause will become immediately apparent and a solution possibly observed. My inclination would be to say that the Pony Wheels or Bogie are binding somewhere on the Bodywork. Might be possible to shave something off to resolve your problem.
