I would like to light up some rolling stock for my Christmas open evening fund raiser. I would appresiate ideas please. Drawings, Plans and photos ect.

You can also find cheap battery LED light sets in Poundland and similar, that you can string round the end of the coach roof etc.

The little sets that come with the battery pack case are just right to slip into a piece of rolling stock or a tram. Some even come with tinsel

I did a really quick job of "festive illuminations" by using Xmas badges from my local $2 shop, they have an Xmas theme and are self contained with flashing leds.... Held in place with some blue tac... I had promised myself to make an "Illuminated tram" with 1.8mm multi coloured leds but have not got aroundtuit yet...
There was a thread on the subject on the forum where other led displays were discussed, you know the scrolling led things with an appropriate message on them... This sort of thing suitably butchered; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Programmable-Red-LED-Light-Scrolling-LED-Belt-Buckle-DIY-Text-Message-Display-/200773850251?pt=AU_Men_Accessories&hash=item2ebf0dd48b
Would look good with a message scrolling across it.

Yeah.. just to annoy you heathens Im going to do an illuminated tram. I have 200 multi coloured 1.5mm leds and I'm going to buy 2 of these; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Red-LED-Name-Badge-Tag-Sign-Display-Programmable-Message-moving-scrolling-New-/171325446725?pt=AU_Business_Industrial_Retail_Shop_Fitting_Supplies&hash=item27e3cada45 to inset into the side of an old Bachmann Saloon car that needs a use, should give me a bit of street cred.... I'll either frost the windows or paint them so I can conceal a battery inside it and it can run on any 45mm track.... Watts this space...
