LGB tender and Emotion M install

You say the loco you are trying to pair it with has an MFX decoder. Are you using MFX there or DCC address? Is your tender a different address from the loco? You wont be able to use the same address for both if the loco is using MFX and the tender is DCC. You will need to set them up in the CS3 as a consist and then they should run together with separate addresses.

For the tender problem the CS3 DCC programming leaves a little to be desired. Do you have access to another type CS to try programming the emotion M (like a Massoth 1210z?

Thanks for your answer Diesel2000. Sure i know Mfx protocol and Dcc runs both different adress, even if i look like a praticer, i play and collect LGB trains for several years. I already use different locos on the same track without any issues. All my others loco are runing great on track. I have not other material as Marklin CS,3, I've sold my old MTS LGB system 2 years ago. My only solution is to bring my tender to an LGB/Marklin shop i know in Paris. They also have Massoth material perhaps they could programming it...To be continued !

That was not quite what I meant, I believe that some of the earlier LGB MTS/DCC locomotives only had 14 speed steps thus possibly not able to have 28 steps. Can anyone confirm if I am correct in this assumption please?
I can recall that an early loco of mine that I fitted with a chip only had 14 speed steps but the loco has been long gone courtesy of ebay and would have been used with MTS 2 or 3
