When I started the EJ&KLR I aquired a pair of red 'anniversary' coaches of the starter set type to supplement Elly's 'BIG TRAIN' starter set. These were red (with decoration), yellow window frames and flat roofs.
One of my earliest repaint projects was converting these to a pair of Zillertalbahn coaches - these were started before I even aquired my first steam engine (an OBB U-class) and inspired by riding on the Zillertal coaches on the Welshpool and Llanfair as I originally intended a more UK based garden line... however the Austrian (and later Eastern Europe) bug bit and these Zillertal coaches were little used as the rest of my stock was either OBB or EJ&KLR liveried.

So as some of my other projects were finished last year, and Elly was talking about repainting her Stainz again I found myself mulling over a re-hash (actually at the same time as I was planning the Kof LGB/Liliput bash)...

So over the past few months, alongside the Kof and 2-plank open, I've stripped down and primed the coaches. Last night I applied two coats of satin green Humbrol enamel with my airbrush (Satin 163).
I've got some low-key small EJ&KLR transfers ready to apply - hoping to have these finished in a week or so, I'd like to take them over to the EJ&KLR for Elly's birthday.
