Yes, I am aware of the weight, although we didn't take it apart. I don't think he has ever tried it on the rack either. I do recall the plain untyred wheels typical of all more recent pantograph locos, which always puzzles me as older tyre equipped pantograph locos always ran well from track and catenary, but with good grip that tyre-less locos seem to lack
It has been a while since he ran it. I recall it being very disappointing, so was set aside, unloved and unused, a bit like Welsh Pony although better protected.
I don't think we were over scientific at the time so maybe we missed something? Your posting has rather awakened my interest in it.
I will try to persuade him to bring it over so that we can try it out again. I rather fancy seeing it shuttling up and down on one of my branches.
In fact one branch has a slight gradient...........
