LGB new to this DCC help?

I had the MTS III for several years. Never needed used those cables.

Assuming your handheld is wired, that will plug intothe 55005 RJ11 jacks.

You need to connect the 55005 to a power source. that is typically just 14 gauge wire.

BTW, if you end up wanting to change CV values, I highly recommned not doing it with the handheld. It can be done but it can also be highly frustrating.

Get yourself a used 55045 and download the free Massoth Service Tool.

Ok thanks John.
I have the transformer which has the power plug.
Do you know what that cables meant to do?
Sorry I’m new to this.
I managed to get MTS the transformer and two handsets for £100 so great entry price to get used to it.
Decoder was only £62 so proud to get to try at a low price.
New lights in three carriages and decoder fitting was £107 which I feel is really good given a light set is £27

So I don’t need said cable?
That’s reassuring.

Chris

55045 …. Is a PC interface?
I’m on Mac so prob won’t work
Is a CV the address of the decider?

May I ask where I can find an instruction. Manual on my MTS as I can’t seem to figure nd one on line.
I need to know how to connect it properly to the track and learn to programme the braking etc as it’s set at value 3 I’m told.

Thanks
Chris

The Loco Address is one of several CVs (Control Variables) that can be set.

The full list is described in the Configuration Manual.

You likley will not need to change anything.

The eMotion L does not have many settings. At your stage of DCC usage that is a good thing. :)

When you progress further you can dive into a wonderfull world of frustration and teeth gnashing.

Well I will get started and see.

Well I will get started and see.
Yes it doesn’t have sound function.
I thought I would start simple to start.
The manual I need to find is using my LGB MTS so I can understand programming and the correct way to connect it to the transformer and track…. Eek sorry so new to this but I’m getting there.
I’m making my bents for trestles which is going ok.

Thanks
Chris

The braking is programmed through the decoder, not the MTS.

When I get home I will send the manual for the decoder.

Then again you shouldn't have to program any of the braking to get started. It's just a matter of tweaking it to get it to your ligging for when you hit the stop button when it's going at a higher speed. You can make the trains slow down gradually versus abruptly
