LGB-HÖHNE / MAGNUS

Pity the connectiong rods/motion is bent on the left hand side

They all look to have been played with and have some damage- probably making something extremely rare unique! I bet not many of these have ever seen a garden...

Doug, I take your point, but all I can see is symmetric on the other side. Even if I cannot explain that odd bend.

I always thought of Magnus stuff as really bomb-proof. Quite different to the RhB steam Ge4/5 made by BRAWA.
BUT:
Matt, you're right, they LOOK played with, but as the owner of a Magnus wagon I have to release a rant about Magnus at this point:
These locos might look played-with, but just 5 times taking it out of the box does as much damage!!
:@ :wits: :@
My Wagon has the same disease: Though hugely heavy and obviously made of metal, most of the added 'junk' is only glued on, AND COMES OFF WHEN YOU ONLY LOOK AT IT!!

And there are design flaws: although (again) metal + heavy, the wheels of my wagon are linked with a PLASTIC axle, which promptly broke in transit (2 out of 6)!
(Magnus assured me that the axles produced nowadays are more solid)
So, as soon as I again have a layout I WILL test this wagon out there, and with time will make it garden-proof.
As for these wonderful locos... I don't know. Will stay away from them, too much grief with one wagon already!
- rant over -

i am a bad lad...

my finger slipped and ive apaerntly placed a bid

On the 'FERROCARILES GIRARDOT' they put the roof on the wrong way round...

When I first started in the Garden, Vince at Morgans Big Train Emporium Had a complete Magnus break down train which I fell in love with, but even back then when I was a bit flush it was way out of my league.........................

Sod it.... the cat just walked across the keyboard and nearly put a bid in.

Well, that was my story....

I'm in big trouble thanks to you lot as I have to admit that I put some lowish bids in and unexpectedly I won the Chinese decapod, I guess it has arrived as I've just had my ear burnt off by a non too pleased call from SWMBO about another large box turning up together with a couple of small ones. It looks like I'm going to have to sell some stuff to appease her so expect some LGB, Bachmann and USAT to be appearing in the member sales section and ebay soon. I guess my wedding anniversiary next week will turn out to be much more expensive than planned!

Steve
You are going to need more than couple of bunches of supermarket flowers to get out of that!
