I am looking to get rid of the above item after converting to MTS. It is in good condition and without box. Looking for £60 plus postage, or will consider swap in exchange for an item of US Narrow gauge stock, perhaps a Bachmann Tanker etc.. SOLD
Thanks for the link Gizzy - I see (as you would expect I suppose) that the output is AC. So I suppose (again) that the rectifier is in the controller? How would it cope with DC input?
The control I use for my trailer layout has a 3amp max (simple small pot and Darlington transistor) - hence my interest in the 5amp rating of this LGB one.
Most of these controllers have a built in rectifier to cope with AC. No problem if you put in DC except you loose a few volts in the rectifier. If you only start with 12 volts you may have a problem.
Any chance of having a 12 v & a 6 v battery in series so you start with 18 v.
Thanks Gizzy - sorry for being a pain in the proverbial. All is now clear.
Mike - yes I could probably put 6 & 12 together but I suppose it would depend on what actually comes out of the controller as I mainly run Bachmann stuff. I'm using a 55amp battery which delivers 13.5v for most of the day but the track voltage is between 11 & 12volt. Some of my Artisto locos go like a rocket on that!
Hi Mike - I had declared an interest in it and was just wanting to increase my knowledge before I committed to purchase it! However, I'll step away from it if you want it.

Hi Mike - you go for it.
It's a bargain - but my garden line needs a revamp and I doubt it will be this year!
The trailer layout will be laid up for the winter at the very end of this month and I have to make a decision about continuing to take it to shows. I was thinking of the increased amperage but I do have a 10amp Train Engineer (from Ross) which is capable of servicing both lines
WOW just got back from work and thread overload I have received your messages Mike, am I correct you and trammayo have reached an agreement, don't want to sell to the wrong person....?
