LGB 28001 motor noise

Not strictly true, as with push-fit wheels, if there has been a problem, then it is not unknown for a wheel to have twisted on the axle.

PhilP.
Good advice (as always) Phil.

I have only had experience of gears being 1 tooth out but never had a loose wheel on an axle so forgot that consideration.

There's also an audible click on each rotation of the wheels. Something is catching somewhere.

Rik
The click is actually the probes I have used to power the loco attached to each of the pickups. The wheel was bumping against one of them.

I have repaired the 'click' sound on several LGB locos. I found the wheel screw was hittin g the side rod. LGB has 2 different type screw 'heads' on their screws and I replaced the thicker head screws with the thinner ones. I also recrimped the metal rivits to reduce the (siderods from flopping around).

Well a bit of fiddling has revealed the noise on startup is just the load of running the extra two wheels and drive linkage gear. Don't know if this is normal or not however the noise largely disappears when the linkage is released. Here are a few vids to show the difference.
