Hello

This week, an ESU 5XL arrived at home to be installed in an LGB 20851 Green Mallet I bought second-hand. After cleaning the wheels & brushes (some got replaced) and rewire the engine (from 3 to 4 wires for DCC operation), I was able to connect the wires to the ESU decoder.
With the ESU Lokprogrammer, I loaded project (S0008, Br23). I know LGB333 LGB333 recommended project S0009 ;-) Once all put in place, I give it a test run but the performance was such a disappointment (stuttering). Then I realized the engine settings (BEMF) are most likely for an H0 lok engine and I took the BEMF settings from another ESU project that works fine for my Harzbulle lok.

I was wondering if somebody has a working ESU project I can borrow to make sure the basic engine settings are set in the most optimal way ?

Current settings captured with JMRI:

Thanks for all useful hints.
Wish you a nice day, Bruno

Why not use the ESU auto-calibrate feature your LokProgrammer gives access too? This should give a good starting point.
