The lighting outputs are low voltage and low current, so the wrapped unit may be a LAMP1 amplifier (sic).
You should be able to measure something around 3-5V to battery negative on the lighting outputs.
The instructions say you can only drive one white LED, or two other colour from these outputs, which suggests 3.5V outputs?
More modern LEDs may be a little more forgiving?
The instructions suggest the Mac5 will self-calibrate at start-up, so you need to make sure the stick and any trimmers are centred before powering up.
