I too lived in Essex during my formative years (nearly sixty years ago). I don't ever recall meeting anyone who dressed like Barbra. Come to think of it, my first girlfriend was called Barbara - she was from Essex, and nope, she didn't dress like that.

PS Those urinals look as grubby as the ones I remember on station platforms at the time. Don't remember encountering any females in the cubicles though. I must have visited the wrong lavatories .......

Yes, I remember they were pretty rank. I don't suppose any female with eyes and a sense of smell would want to go near one.

Wasn't much scope for excitement in the small Essex village where I lived , though the Stour Valley and Colne Valley Railways meandered close by .....

I have been plodding on regardless finish some projects and upgrading others ,sometimes some thing falls into your lap, when your not looking...

Reminds me of the old 'Beyond the Fringe' joke about the phrase found in train toilets, 'Gentlemen lift the seat.'

I was about 12 or 13 when I had a Hornby OO layout and one of the first accessories my father bought for the station platform was a beautifully detailed open topped gents' urinal. My mother was disgusted! I believe my father bought it just to achieve that reaction!

there have to be a few bonuses of modelling NO Smell….although the smell of a steam train would be a nice addition.

About 26...any more and the weight of the tankers creates the draw string effect..it literally pulls the waggons of the rail on the curves
