On getting a break in the weather ie warmer . And a chance of a clear work bench. I decided to under take a bit of loco maintances on 611 lanquart
Bought second hand it's seen a few miles use and looking at the heavely marked wheels and skates it shows..initially I thought new wheel sets ..and skates ..so my plan was to reuse some wheel sets I had were the gear had been chewed up..take the good wheels and fit to the good axle ect.. but 1st I thought I'd try to use a bit of wet and dry on them..
Which worked really well to the extent I'm leaving it as it is.. well apart from the ovoiuse mistake the previous owners made.. parts on order to rectified it. .I also swapped out the worn skates ..not helped by someone botched repair..they have lost the spring and used a old carbon bullet spring...it's too short and no use..

Today I was producing the blocks that aline up the 2 locks and give me a soild section to fix them with..basicly lumps of foambord set on the lower lock for the higher lock to sit on/over..
