This is another Bachmann Thomas and Friends conversion
The model of James set me thinking about how a more realistic loco could be produced
The bunched up six drivers meant reviewing older types
Anyway I came up with two Scottish Caledonian 4-6-0s
The mcintosh class 55 and 918s being the inspiration for the model I've produced
Both types disappeared in the 1930s probably as the modern ubiquitous Black 5s were introduced
So a James chassis and Emily tender were ordered from Bachmann parts USA
On arrival the james chassis was extended a new superstructure/body built s bogie made using Bachmann Thomas range wagon wheels
The tender modified the main item being to widen the body
The whole job was then painted
The choice being Caley blue with complex lining; early LMS maroon (simple lining) ; or black, lined or unlined
Given the locos James heritage and the simple lining I chose the early LMS livery
The transfers were from Fox
Here are a few illustrations of the finished job
The whole thing being produced over the last month or so whilst being laid low with the Flu and its after effectsIMG_6389.JPGIMG_6392.JPGIMG_6393.JPGIMG_6389.JPGIMG_6392.JPG

That is just stunning!

That will look magnificent running with those Coupling Rods serenely pumping up and down. When you can could you please please please do a vid of her running sedately in the Garden.
