Only any good indoors - but nice looking :nod:
 
MDF can be saturated with sealer and last for a while outdoors, but to the question in the subject, lately I have heard increasing sensitivity to any wood or wood product being held up in customs because of possible insect infestation.

(Of course I think the glues in the mdf would kill most bugs if ingested, but what do I know)
