Installing sprog drivers on Windows 7

Having invested in a sprog I've now reached a hurdle. The manual doesn't explain how to instal the driver on Windows 7. I've checked the CD and the website and followed the instructions so far but my computer won't recognise anything anywhere on the CD as a driver.

Anyone managed to successfully instal Sprog on W7?

dunno what is a sprog, but a lot of software/hardware people do not have drivers for 64 bit processors. Did you know that Canon for instance have no driver for any of their products which will work with the 64 bit processor. progress?

It's OK - managed to track down the location of the driver on the disk - I was going one folder too deep.
I wish they'd update the manual tho' - I imagine many new Sprog users will be using Windows 7

I'm using Home Premium with Service Pack 1 BTW

If not is it 32 or 64bit Windows?

Yes thanks - working my way through the manual but slightly overwhelmed by all the options at the moment.
64 bit, to answer your question.

I want to improve the acceleration and deceleration of the locos, so am playing around with those settings at present.

It's a £50 device using open source software with a very user friendly interface which allows reading and writing of CVs on virtually all makes of decoder. I found it much easier to use than LGB's or Massoth's (slightly dearer) kit and associated software.

Emailing Andrew Crosland usually gets a very helpful reply for any further problems. He used to include his email so probably worth dropping him a line to alert him to the hiccup so he can update his disc. If you can't find it pm me and I'll see if I can find it or drop him a line on RMweb as he drops in from time to time.

I agree, he's been helpful with questions I emailed a few years back.

He's also regularly on the DCCUK and jmriusers Yahoo groups.
 
Thanks for all your help folks. I'm now up and running and having great fun re-programming the accelleration and deceleration settings on my locos.

Just one question, when I reset the speed steps on an MTS decoder to 28 the software says "(not available for LGB MTS)". Does that mean the MTS central station only supports 14 speed steps?

According to my 2007 instructions. The MTS3 unit can handle 28 speed steps but only with the Massoth navigator handset. It would appear that its the MTS handset that cant handle 28 steps.
