A generous gob of petroleum jelly (Vaseline or similar) or even something like Castrol bearing grease squidged into all apertures and a quick wrap around with tape should keep out the rust for a couple of years if that helps.

Put the terminal block in a weather proof enclosure which is IP65 rated. use suitable sized rubber grommets for the cable exits and smear with Vaseline. Mount the box just off the floor.

You could also provide a couple of drain holes underneath so that any moisture inside can escape and air can get in, although this shouldn't be necessary....

I used offcuts of 20mm pipe. I wired the lead and connector through the pipe and then squeezed a load of sealant in at both ends. Small and waterproof. :D

Even just soldering the joints in the same way you have used, then wrap around with insulating tape will give longer lasting connections
