Help identifying sound cards

Hello I purchased a box with sounds cards in it. The main items were a crest revolution transmitter and receiver. I plugged a battery into the receiver and pressed the link botton and was able to link the receiver to the transmitter no problem.
In the box were 2 boards one im sure it is a phonix p8 and it looked as though at one time it was connected to the crest receiver I can tell that by wires that were cut match the wires on the crest.
The board I don't know any thing about is in the pictures.
The last picture is of the phonix p8 I think.

Edit - Sorry, on a closer look it's probably not a 2K2 as I initially thought. This is the similar looking Phoenix 2K2 that is fitted to one of my locos. If it is one I can PM you a copy of its manual in PDF format if you need it. Max.

Yea I found a picture of a phonix 2k2 and it is a match to what I have. I found the manual and downloaded it. I will bench test it tomorrow and see if it works. So far all the items I got from the deal work. Took a 49.00 gamble and so far it has paid off.

The 2k2 sound card failed on bench test so it's trash. I want to test the phoenix p8 sound card but the only way I can test it is by wiring it to a crest revolution receiver but I can't find a site that shows how to wire a p8 to a crest. Does anyone know where I can find a wire diagram to do that?

Do you not have an analogue supply, you can rig the test setup in the Phoenix manual?

You say the 2k2 is 'scrap'? - Did you give it a 'chuff' input.. You can tap a wire from negative to the chuff input, and should get a 'chuff' each time. *

*Does depend how the card is setup, of course.

I found a site that showed me how to bench test the phoenix 2k2.
It showed told me to plug a 3.6v battery into the plug on the board I did that then plug a speaker into pin 7 and 8 I did that. Then plug wires from my 12v power supply to pin 1 and 2 I did that using my lgb track power supply turned up to 12 volts and I got nothing.
And on the sie it showed me which post on the 3.6v pin was positive and my plug was backward so I ran my battery red to plug black and battery black to plug red.

Turns out the power supply I was using was faulty on the phoenix 2k2 I used a 9 volt battery and to worked the sound card is programed to steam and sounds good. It does have the program jack attached so I assume if someone has the hardware to reprogram it and files it can be changed.

Possibly start with Del Tapparo, at G-Scale Graphics?

I successful wired the phoenix p8 to a crest revolution receiver and everything works except the chugging. I have 2 wires not going to anything so I plugged a reed switch into it a powered the unit up and I get chugging when I move a magnet passed it.
My question is there a way to get the chugging to work without a reed switch.
