Hi All,
While I save for a TCL, I decided to see what I could cobble together. So from a broken drill, a butchered bachmann wagon and some plasticard I present: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1WJ6jpxijc
It works well. As a note the abrasive is very gentle- and I ground the disc chaft square so it could float in the chuck using gravity of the disc to follow the track. Big ugly screw was an after thought- I couldn't brake the chuck to adjust the jaws once it was all together. Anyway it's only cost me an hour and a bachmann wagon which could always be reused for a project when I buy the real LGB item.
I may well try and tidy it up and build some kind of maintinence superstructure over the wagon if it proves reliable.
