Have to say with just the one train trundling about I see few problems, but if there were 10 or so yes that would be tricky.

Five decades ago when I was in Germany, Easter was called not only Fröhlich but also Gefährlich on account of the looming Abitur Exams.... does anyone know if it’s still the same?

Some fell on stony ground...

I thought a fell was stony ground? :giggle:

As for the German:
das waren für mich böhmische Dörfer (gummitwist)

But as I 'did' French (badly) Google was my friend..

“That were for me Bohemian villages (rubbertwist)” ? According to my Oxford Duden German Dictionary. Gummibänder is rubber bands, one of my favourite German words, along with Auspuff - exhaust.

My all-time favourite remains 'Gute Fahrt!!!'

One of Queen Elizabeth I’st’s courtiers had the misfortune to suffer a particularly audible emission in her presence and fled the Court in great dismay. Many years later he summoned up the courage to return. QE1 greeted him warmly with the words “Welcome back, my lord! We had quite forgot the fart.”
