A few days ago I asked how people made gutters etc. Well I found a sneaky way of doing it on the cheap (ish)! My wife is involved with archery and most arrows these days are made from carbon coated aluminium tube. When an arrow gets damaged I have a good supply of weather proof tubing, just the right size. Obviously this is only viable if you know an archer or know where an archery club is, but maybe worth a thought.
How do you manage to cut the tube so neatly for the gutters or are you just talking downspouts here?
Fortunately it wasn't that difficult, I pushed the tube up against a firm block and used a Dremel disc cutter. I just took my time. When I do it again I'll make a proper jig as fingers and cutting discs aren't the best of bedfellows. Fortunately I managed to keep the use of all my fingers! The down pipes are held in place by small black cable ties. The spare length shortened and cut to a point, then pushed into the foam board. Looking at the pictures I realised I hadn't put some ends on the gutters!
Very neat solution all I need to do now is find a tame Archer!
