Hi everyone, as you may know I am the general dogsbody (owner) of Garden Rail Outlet and that it is not my full time occupation.

Increased pressures and responsibilities (and stress) in my main job (the one that pays all of the bills) is making time for GRO hard to find, which increases delays in orders and reduces customer service levels.

So it is with regret, that I intend to begin to wind down GRO, and to mothball it at the end of the financial year (beginning of April).

To that avail, the website should now only list and allow purchase of items that I have “in-stock” and I do not have any intention to order any more. I do have some items still on order which will be available when they turn up and I untangle any end-of-transition period red tape.

I started GRO back in 2012 after a short discussion with Mike Duffy at the first G Scale Society Show in Stafford that year and I have enjoyed trying to provide you all with Massoth, ESU, LGB and Champex products over the years.

Thank you all for you custom over the years and I hope to catch up with a lot of you at shows (as a visitor) in the future (as things allow).

I will of course, still be here, helping keep GSC on track.

Sorry to hear about the closure of GRO Mark, but I understand where you are coming from.

I guess coming out of the EU will not be of help either....

Thanks for all your help over the years Mark, I hope this move helps reduce the stress levels.

Thank you for being able to help/supply in my hour(s) of need Mark. It will never replace the service you provided over the years, but once things have settled down perhaps we should look to setting up a central point of contact for the forumites so combined orders can be submitted to foreign parts for items we cannot source elsewhere. That would hopefully reduce both postage and customs/tax procedures.

My thanks also, Mark, for the friendly advise and service you have shown me during the life of GRO.
I shall now peruse the website for any spares possibly 'needed' in the future!
All best wishes for the future.

Well, that's a shame - but one has to live.

Well done - I know that there have been many happy punters :clap::clap::clap:

I'm sorry its come to this mark ,
Let's hope the stress will receed, and G.R.O., Can again help us all...

Hi Mark,
T'is a b*gg*r when life gets in the way of having fun..

Even if it is a new definition of having fun. - With apologies to Douglas Adams..

ATB,
PhilP.

I second my sorrow but again can fully understand the issue of trying to balance a hobby job with a full time one. Perhaps in the fullness of time your opportunity will come again (semi retirement?) but in the meantime many thanks for the bits that you have supplied all of them in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Thanks Mark for all your work with GRO and the excellent service/prices you have provided, in my case particularly for Massoth products.
Best wishes, Richard

Hello all,

Since I decided to announce the closure of GRO , the website has remained running and there has been a trickle of orders and remaining stock on hand has reduced. I have now decided that the website will be turned off at the end of November and as such wish to offer a 25% discount for all purchases until that time.

Most of the remaining stock are spares from Champex-Linden and LGB, with the odd Massoth item.

Many thanks

Mark

Many thanks for all the goodies and repairs over the years Mark.
Cheers,

My order arrived early last week, the day after ordering - excellent service! All I have to do now is find where I've put it!
