Have just acquired a big lo of track rolling stock and buildings from someone who has given up theirs garden railway.
Track looks in good condition
Fair bit rolling stock, some scratch built, some rakes of Bachman coaches and several engines including 3 Bachman’s consolidations. Emphasis is on US outline
This is I think their first venture into G scale. I acquired a boot full of stuff on Tuesday.
Happy shopping

If it's mostly US profile stuff, thankfully there is unlikely to be anything I'd be after, but thanks for the heads-up anyway.

It is far from being Great Eastern's first foray into G - in fact, back in the mid-to-late '80s the whole of the upstairs of their shop was a huge G scale (mostly LGB) sales area! I bought quite a bit of stuff there for my first "round" of G collecting at the time. The chap who started the business was very heavily into G scale himself, hence he became an LGB dealer. When I got back into G again in the early Noughties, I went up there again to find that most of the LGB had gone by then, though they had a few bits and pieces left and I picked up a black "U" class and a feldbahn loco, both "new old stock" at very good prices; I think that the owner passed away around then (or soon after) and the business passed to his son, or possibly son-in-law, who I believe still runs it now.

Pity the website is little more than a 'holding page' with contact details..

Though a bit of a trek for me!

The shop these days does not usually do G scale however Anne and her crew run an excellent model railway shop if your main area of interest is OO and N. They do many free events there where specialists will show how to do scenery, digital, build a baseboard and a lot more. They also have a presence at a lot of East Anglian model railway shows.

When the owner of Great Eastern died the business passed to his daughter Ann, who still runs the business. I go in from time to time but there is rarely any G scale available and if there is it will be secondhand. The upper floor used to be let out to a trader who originally had a model shop in Caister-on-Sea - Orange Dragon Models. He moved away from the larger scales and concentrated on producing scenic products. He has since given up the retail sales outlet and concentrates on internet sales. I believe he trades from home - in the Potter Heigham area, north of Great Yarmouth. He has appeared at model shows and sometimes had a limited selection of PIKO G on sale. That may well have ceased since ECR started (mainly internet) trading imported PIKO and Train (Newqida) in a big way from an industrial unit near Bradwell, between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.

There are some images on their Facebook page. The link is on their website. You don’t have to be a FB member to see them if you don’t mind the tediousness popups
