Note the original unit is not IP rated for outside use..

Obviously, it can be used to feed devices that ARE outside.

That is a very good point, the 2 i have are in a ip rated plastic box, in a summer house in the garden.

Now if Massoth had an Alexa skill that would be cool

I use the Sonoff range of devices in my home automation system, for indoor and outdoor security lights. They are very good but I don't use Alexa. When I want a light switched on, I get up and use a switch. :)

Designed for a 'fixed' installation, rather than a 'plug-in' solution..

Would would certainly end-up cutting/stripping mains wires. Not difficult, more a case of working through methodically, but if unsure you would have to add the cost of getting a Sparky in.

My 13 Amp plugins R/C seem simpler, and I believe they are voice activated, "wife switch on side lights" :mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask:

Same here Paul. Like to switch off from the tech when I get home (when the family allows it of course - they all think I'm family tech support too).

Darn... I thought I was doing well working with computers back in the days of green screens, basement sized main frames. 12" tape storage and clean rooms. But you've got me beat by a couple of decades... Hats off to you...

Although I started working with computers in the mid-1970s, we were using punched card machines for data input and output .
