Well, you know how it is... I was shopping with the Missus and she's off buying 'stuff' and I'm left to stand there looking like someone who's loitering with intent when I spotted these Xmas tree decorations:

*thinks* They are about the right size for G scale. Could I possibly swing an 'around the xmas tree' layout this year?

The answer was 'Oooh, aren't they look cute! Yes, try it.' so I bought them. (£1.99 each)

Next, a suitable motove power unit needed to be selected (not too much of a problem for me - I've only got 3 to choose from!) So the well used and abused Bachy Davenport was pressed into service (again). I removed the cabin and replaced it with a basic plasticard structure because there's no need for detail - but seeing it made me think that perhaps there's a 1:18 loco hiding in there somewhere...

A bit of paint and some double sided sticky tape to stop the passengers falling out, and I've got the basis of a Santa Special! :D

I don't think my first efforts at 'festive bling' have quite come off but I'll get there.... :(

I've also fitted a damned annoying 'Christmas Tunes' sound unit so just you wait for the video when it and the tree are set up - it'll drive you potty!

Looks great. The Davenport as a larger scale model does well. I would never have thought it.

As for your xmas tunes............................Bah Humbug....................I can turn the volume way down.

I downloaded a printable paper Santa sleigh which I attached to a Bachy logging truck and modified the 'bling'. Looks fine and sounds annoying. (YouTube vid to follow.... :D )
