Garden Railways Limited (Martin's Models) Bishops Stortford, Herts

Nibbs

45mm Gauge, 16mm scale narrow gauge garden railway
Really helpful. Was looking for Accucraft wheels and Graham was able to supply all I needed and waited in on a Sunday morning so I could collect them. Great service! Hope to be able to do business again. Very many thanks!

I've bought stuff from them at shows (both G-Rail and P'boro). Their single-page website just says they are run "from home", so do they actually have any kind of retail shop on the premises - do they welcome visitors who may just want to browse their stock, or only to collect pre-ordered items?

Jon.

Is this the same Martins that used to be in (I think) Gloucestershire or therabouts that also import Regner?
JonD

I believe it's the same business, but following a change of ownership. The original Martin of Martin's Models has retired and sold the business on (including, I think, the Regner dealership?) to the current owners.

Well that is kind of good news as Stortford is much easier (for me) to get to.

I received a 90 deg crossover from Martin's Models recently.

I don't think that they have a shop as such from the address and leaflet sent out with my purchase....

Shops as such can be a tricky definition. Would you class a converted Garage at a House as a Shop? But many of our estemed Retailers do just that. I think we should celebrate that, the previous Martins in I think Gloucestershire was just that so far as I remember from my one visit. I use a similar venue as they are now my local retailer. I have no problem with them or their expertice and keen prices.

I warmly applaud all our Garden Retail outlets wherever and whatever they trade from.

Agreed, JonD... though I hope that the new incarnation of Martin's (GRltd) gets the rest of their website built soon... if they don't have a retail shop that folks can visit to browse their stock, and their website gives no details of what they have in stock either, I'm not QUITE sure how we're meant to buy things from them other than having to phone or email and say "I want one of "x", do you have it?"

Can anyone who has actually visited them answer the question I raised in Reply no.1 above?

Jon.

I do believe they trade on ebay (at prices on a par with high street shops) but I may be wrong :)

I found them on Evilbuy Jon, having Goggled the LGB Part No for the 90 deg crossover....

Can you tell me what eBay name they trade under, Giz (or anyone)? A search in eBay stores failed to show up anything.....

They're not making themselves easy to find..... >:(

Hi Jon
their ebay 'handle' is

trains4gardens

Thanks Mike, much appreciated! I just checked their website again to see if I'd missed this (their eBay name) being mentioned anywhere - and no, as far as I can see it isn't.

I've ordered a Regner Otto from Graham Austin today. His website is now live and he tells me that he's running the business from a Log Cabin in the garden. I've been emailing Graham with queries for a while now and he's been brilliant. It's so nice that our Regner's are in safe hands.

For those that have not found it,mhere is the Webb Site.

Well worth a look at the Regner Spares plus no doubt other bits. He has clearly taken time to develop a good Webb Site. Sometimes these things take longe than we might like or think. I wish them well with their enterprise.
