Over the years that I have been involved with G Scale trains, I have also collected various cars and lorries, usually 1:24 scale.

I have a small fleet of MAN tippers that deliver gravel from my fleet of OEG hopper wagons by road....

Logs and building materials can be delivered by this Scania with its HIAB crane, but it can be also be loaded by the front end log loader.

The local mechanic attends in his Mercedes Sprinter van....

Hoppers and Open Wagons can be loaded by this Front End Loader, and covered vans by one of several Fork Lift Trucks used by the railway....

I also have several cars, including Landrovers, a Jeep, a 4x4 Pickup, a Mini and a VW Golf. These are often hauled on car carrying flats....

bad scale...this motorhome need to be situated on the narrowest road possible blocking several other tourists. ! way too wide a space for such a large vehicle to be found on
Yes I think the Motorhome is a bit over scale and definitely too big for NC500 in Scotland!

I brought it from the Midlands Garden Railway Show last year....

I have gone for quite a few VW's of sorts, in the form of those Airfix Quickbuild Kits...

...it's an old picture, and they keep introducing differing colours and indeed vehicles, they do a modern London Black Cab now, so I can see the Cab based van arriving in the range at some point.
Other kit makers do similar as I have a small fleet of the Revel Easy-Click versions as well.

I am also a caravan man, owning a small 2 berth known as Dinky Winky.

And yes, the buttons are for sound effects....

Those motorhomes were on offer in B&M not long ago at 2 for a tenner. I bought four which I had planned to load on flat cars.

ok, I need one, so will check out B&M.. Curious what are the "sound" they make.. "couples arguing about scraping the side of the van"? "whos going to empty the toilet" " get me another bottle wine"? or just Beep Beep ?????

I never did try the sound function. The first thing I did was to remove the batteries. From memory it was about a fifteen minute job as it was almost a full dismantle to get to the battery compartment located deep within the interior. Mine are packed away in the garage somewhere awaiting a layout rebirth. I believe they also did an ambulance variation using the same basic model. Despite what Gizzy implied I thought they were a pretty good representation of 1/24 scale. The snap together kits he mentioned (but the exotic types) formed the majority of the vehicles I loaded onto my double-deck Orient Express Transporte Internationale car carriers. If you don't find what you are looking for I might be persuaded to part with one.

cheers, I think It was me taking the micky out of the scale but only the scale of the "location" as finding a camper on a wide open road v narrow lane . hee hee

I have a few diecasts dotted around or acting as "loads". As most of my stock is 15mm/16mm my prefered scale is 1:18 and era's from Victorian to "modern day" preserved lines, but mostly upto the '50's. But, I can range outside of my preferred scale as, mostly, one does not know the relationship of the prototypes to each other. US subjects are manifold, road, farm, construction, even military. Gets a little harder with pre-war UK subject matter. Yes, the Huina range of RC works vehicles are great fun, and (play) value. Max
