Went to the landscape store today and picked up some more rocks and some more plants. I think I like it. Hopefully it will grow on me.IMG_20180116_111244838_HDR.jpg IMG_20180116_120053134.jpg IMG_20180116_120115306_HDR.jpg

Great little railway Jack. I thought you must be in a warmer place than I if you're able to work on your railway now. The Little Big Haulers look great in their setting. Smaller locos and rolling stock are the way to go. They make the scenes more believable.

Thanks I'm finding that out. I like the smaller locomotive's. For the size of the layout.

Thanks for the nice comments. I will need to cover some plants tonight. Here in South Florida it may get to 27. Brrrrrrrrrr

Filled the pond last night and to my joy it still had water in it this morning.. I need to figure out how to hide the pump and hose . I guess over time the pond will grow Moss is something that may hide it some. Not sure how to fix this problemIMG_20180122_083033185.jpg IMG_20180122_083124913.jpg IMG_20180122_083033185.jpg IMG_20180122_083124913.jpg IMG_20180122_083057278_HDR.jpg IMG_20180122_083108449_HDR.jpg

Don't worry about it..
It will 'green-up' over time, and you will not be able to see them.

Great progress!

I'm building my first road. Didn't really know how to go about it. but I remember how seeing a side walk built with forms. So I made some forms and poured the road. Not sure where the road goes though....IMG_20180123_125413415.jpg IMG_20180123_125425961.jpg IMG_20180123_125451239.jpg IMG_20180123_135829633.jpg IMG_20180123_135829633.jpg IMG_20180123_135808387.jpg

Got to run some trains while I was putting in the road. My little MDC Big Hustler is pretty powerful. And a little hualer on top. I don't know if I will use the buildings I put out for main St or not yet. They were some of my first buildings and a bit to like maybe . What you think of them..

I think they look fine - you need to add some more!

Thats looking really good Jack. and a road can be built anyway you like if it looks right.
i noticed you had a track joint come appart - have you found the joiner (fishplate) securing screws under one of the sleepers on each track section, hed in place with a dob of wax - these fit the holes in the rail ends.

Thanks Guys. Yes I found the screw with the wax. All the track I have in use right now have the split jaw joiners. They are awesome but expensive. I may need to try and use the old joiners on some of the straights with a jumper wire possibly. I can't believe after like 4 years I'm finally building my railroad...feels good...

Can't you hide the pump and bits under the overhanging rock? As PhiliP said, it will green up in time, but if you're not careful it'll get bogged down in pond slime, so putting the pump on a brick (if the pond is deep enough) helps keep it clear

Thanks will do. It is already starting to become less noticable. I like the idea of keeping the pump off the bottom a bit.

IMG_20180202_084516006.jpg IMG_20180202_084532337.jpg Got some moss from Amazon the other day. It's neat it comes in a roll and can be cut to shape. It was pretty cheap and I am trying it for grass. Not sure how it will last. It's made for outdoor flower boxes and things so we will see. IMG_20180130_084510847.jpg IMG_20180130_084403052.jpg IMG_20180130_084331676.jpg
