Hmmm... Yes, you are right that they may be the same as they were on my last visit - that's the implication of the "have not been updated".Well I think it means (to me at least) that those posts that you didn't have time to read haven't been added to - still the same as your last visit when you didn't read them. Am I right?
The issue is that they are the negative side of the "new posts' coin. They are the threads that have not been updated. What about the threads that have been updated? Am I supposed to look through all the threads that have not been updated to see if one is missing?
Remember, I only see 10 threads with "new posts" each time I visit, so there may be a bunch of threads that were added to while I wasn't looking that have now been pushed off the "top 10".
I get the impression that many posters aren't considering that there are only 10 "new posts" shown. There may be 100 new posts since last time you visited, but you only see 10 of them. Or am I confused too?
Which raises another question about the "top 10". Is it the latest 10 new posts? Or the 10 new posts in threads from when I last visited? In other words, is it the top/latest of the "new posts" list or is it the bottom/oldest?
{By far the best solution I have found is on MyLargeScale.com. Their "Active Topics" lists ALL threads with posts in date order, so the newest are at the top. Any thread you have looked at, that has not been added to, is in normal font, but a thread with new posts since your last visit is in bold. Most folk just go there and go down the list until they are done.]
