again.They aren´t as good as the Buhler but they are o.k.

Having scratchbuilt nearly 3/4 of my diesel fleet I can apprieciate the work involved diesels are far more complicated to build than steam and that is going to be a stunning model when finished it als a very complex model by the curves and transitions along with compound curving etc . I presume by the wheel arrangement it will go round radius 1 (That will start a debate.) Looking forward to seeing bogie sideframes. Brilliant work keep it up:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

I thought it would be much easier to build a diesel.

If it runs on R3 it´s ok with me.

Looking good for your info I built and motorised a Dapol model a few years ago and did not use a lims chassis but old 37bogies it runs and pulls well I then for my sins rebuilt scratchbuilt another dapol kit to a production deltic Nimbus using an american chassis gthat was tough should do some photos to show ! In my eyes you,ve captured the look:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

This is a stunning project which I am enjoying (sure you've got the right number of rivets?). I loved this loco from the beginning, saw the original at Finsbury Park one day, often travelled behind the brand new production ones in NE England. In my early dubbloh days I wanted one, so I bought a Kitmaster which I motorised, I think with a Kitmaster power bogie. Only snag was I wanted a green one so I pared all the EE embellishments including headlamp off the body, filed down the speed things, filled in the resulting holes, and painted it green and yellow. Then of course Hornby Dublo made the thing. I did buy a couple of the Dapol kits, but never made them up, and as you all know I then lost interest in dubbloh. I'm looking forward to seeing this complete loco with fourteen bogies on

I know that my rivets are to large and to much.
On the prototype you can only find very few rivets and definitly not on the cab.
But I like to use these rivets to let it more look like a model train from the fifties.

But in the first place I can´t afford it and in the second
I can´t imagine a soundunit that realy touches this earthquake waking
sound of a Deltic.
And also no smoke unit can be found to produce this amazing cloud of dust.

This is just the best ever G scale item!! Until you build a 37 :rolf: Our Billy has a sound fitted Deltic in"OO", the noise is magic. Did you say you were moving to the UK? I for one would love to see it if you do. If not I may be passing your way in October;):bigsmile:
 
That clip of 22, with gunge, leaving York reminds me of three trips I made to York, in 1979/80, all night sessions, train after train. Deltics all night long, incredible. But, and a big but, when it came to early morning and the first York to Kings Cross departure, in order to cut down the gunge which was affecting the nicely painted station roof, the loco for the train was put on by a Class 31, the Deltic not started up until just before departure. Now, not many of you knew that, did you. So it looked as though we got a double-headed 31 and 55. Of course, no one in their right mind would let a 31 do an important mainline job, they were just for newpapers and things like that. Oh hecky, I haven't gone and upset the 31 enthusiast, have I? There's only one, I think
 
Cyril, there's no way a 31 could pull a newspaper train - they can't acually pull anything! :rolf: The Gateshead drivers hated them.

The Poole train from Newcastle Central used to often have 2 of them on....on a train anything else could pull single handed. Except maybe a 204. They're pants too.
edit for younger viewers - 204's are class 03/04. 204 hp.
 
Back on topic, that really does look a good model, whilst not scale, it certainly captures the atmosphere of a Deltic. And the sound, oh god the sound......simply spine tingling, anyone that hasn't heard one has missed one of a railway enthusiasts greatest treats. That's from a steam enthusiast!
