Dibden Valley Loco bashes/scratch builds

First up is an LGB Otto. Started life as a standard green Otto before turning into this rather unusual looking tank loco, which was first weathered then painted and lined

.

However not being happy with this it was then converted to a tender loco without the tender...

And seen here during construction of the new cab and tender and running on the Dibden Valley and also the Sprowston & Norwich Light Railway. There are still a few jobs to do, but not sure how to do them yet...

Next up a repainted playmobil loco, also converted to battery power and with a rear light and real coal added.

A very nice selection of photos.

I like the paint job on the Playmobil loco and how the rear light has been fitted. I've been thinking of getting the lights on my battery PM locos working and fitting a rear light on my two mains PM locos. Any tips and hints would be appreciated.

Adding a rear light to the playmobil loco was fairly complicated... The wires run under the loco, then up into the bunker and then through the back where a standard light was just glued on. Batteries are on board the loco which required a little bit of careful cutting of the strengtheners inside it. Charging is via the chimney. Pictured below is another creation of mine for the Sprowston & Norwich Railway a scratch built W&U tram on a playmobil chassis.

Well another new project has arrived! A Faller Railcar. However it didn't work as planned with two playmobil motor blocks so need a different chassis. Anybody help?

The wheel location looks good, but the motor bloks are too long. I believe LGB motor blocks are shorter. At that, if you lowered the body would the trucks have room to swivel?

The chassis could be shortened a bit, but I would prefer to use something that isn't as high. Lowering the body onto the blocks would look horrible internally. Ideally an old stlye IP engineering chassis would be perfect for this. The powered Playmobil Chassis will become a GVT Loco (watch this space) the other is unpowered. I am also planning some scratch build wooden coaches on Playmobil running gear which will go with my repainted Playmobil loco.
