Decoder fitting for Aristo Consolidation - advice please

Having looked back through this thread..
You seemed to have this problem with the decoder to start with..
You did however have a second loco on the track. - did you change any CV's during this time?
If you did, it may be that BOTH loco's are now on address 3, so both may respond to commands sent to address 3.

Please make sure there is only one loco on your track whilst doing further tests. - Probably are doing this, but we can't see down t'interweb to your setup. :D

It may be the correct sounds are loaded, but the decoder has not been told which sounds to 'play' for which button pressed??
We probably need to wait for Neil to chip-in, as it appears he has used QSI decoders..

Only the one loco on the track and the dealer has already downloaded 'large steam' file for me when I returned it - previously it was 'medium steam'. He played it to me over the telephone on his rig and it sounded fine as far as I could tell (and sounded fine to him, and he deals with these things every day). I have not changed any CV's at any stage. In fact I do not know how to change CVs without downloading the Massoth instructions. I suspect that is where the answer may be but I was hoping otherwise. In the past 5 minutes I have just tried with the navigator in wired mode, but it made no difference. I suspect I may need to take the loco on a visit to the Essex lads who seem to be good at sorting out these type of problems.

Sounds like a plan to me..

It may well be blindingly obvious once it is 'seen in the flesh', so to speak.
Good luck!
PhilP.

Just a small update on this. I decided I had nothing to lose by changing the loco address. Having changed the address functions 1 to 8 now work correctly! Overall sound is still rubbish but at least it's progress.
