btw.....
...BUILDING a curved grade is somehow difficult.
The leveling-bubble-thing is a way to stay inside some tolerances, but i experienced it (i tried it) as very uncertain.
The best thing is testing and calculating:
build up your curve with blocks on even ground to get the wanted grade and then testdrive it.
make a plan for your layout and calculate for each section of track:
for example: on a LGB R1 1/1 tracksection u get a bow-length of ((1200mm x 3,14)/360degrees )x 30 degrees what makes 314mm.
so, measuring on the quatercircle, u have 3 times this length: 942mm.
for a grade of it gives a heigth of on 1 section on 1/8 circle on 1/4 circle on 1/2 circle on full circle
1% 3,14mm 4,7mm 9,4mm 18,8mm 37,6mm
2% 6,28mm 9,4mm 18,8mm 37,6mm 75,4mm
3% 9,42mm 14,1mm 28,3mm 56,5mm 113mm
4% 12,56mm 18,8mm 37,7mm 75,4mm 150,7mm
and so on.
then define a "0" line on your layout (best: the circle-center) and leveling out each point of heigth: the mor points u choose, the more it looks like a track. With a R1 i think the quatercircle should be enough.
