Looking to match functions with sound, so pantograph sounds are up with one key, down with another think its 13 and 14 in this case. Is it poss to match with a servo functions on a F8s chip, not the actual function key numbers, but the CV's that will allow it to happen. This is the only way I can see it happening.

In an ideal world would like the F8s and Massoth XLS to work,

Function 13, panto up with up sound, then again 13, panto down with down sound, and same with other panto on F 14.

So I can have none, both or either raised at any time.

Manufacturers CV range, what happens if you ignore the setting range, options are in this case 20 to 40 to operate a servo, now with that I can get a 90 deg. rotation, but tried 10 and 50 which are outside the "instruction" range, but it does give me 180 deg. rotation, which I am looking for, without any apparent problems, or am I risking damage to the chip.

With a Massoth chip, the panto up/down is a toggle of the same function key.. You CAN tie a sound to be triggered by the same key, but only one..
I do it by setting front panto with 'panto up' sound, and rear panto with 'panto down' sound.
You get the same sound for up and down for a panto, but at least you get a sound. - I can't really tell the difference, and guess most people won't either.

You should not damage the chip by tweaking the servo range outside of 'accepted' values.. - I believe the settings given are for 90 degrees of movement, which most people require??

There is a vid out there showing up and down with the correct sounds, on a Crok, which is what I am contemplating doing.

Guess I could ask the guy how he did it, but it was posted at least six years ago, and if I recall it correct, I think he is Italian.


As for the other, tried a trial set up with the baggage coach roof, servo at 90 deg. did not lower the pan down far enough, 180 deg. may be a bit too far. Using a cord tied to the pantograph mechanics, under tension will be down, release will be up and still allow the pan to spring as it were. Once I get to the final fitting can tweek between 10 and 50, to get it right.

Much cutting, light re jigging and wiring changes to do inside the coach first, functions I am aiming for are Pantograph, coach lights, guard compartment light, and flashing tail light, but thankfully no sound.

Easier option in theory first, then in the light of experience the Crock next, with auto couplers as well.

Gordon, unless (Mark?) knows better, I do not know of a way to fire one sound when you toggle a CV one way, and a different sound when it toggles the other. - This on a Massoth decoder.
