Converting Bachmann Closed Streetcar to USA Trains Motor Block

Hello and thanks for the reply! I did not remove any circuit boards, I did take off one black and silver things (pretty sure its a flyback transformer?) just for a few tests but overall no I didn't remove any full panels or anything, just taking the wiring as it was and attempting to re-power it. And I did get the lights on wiring alligator clips to the pickups from the track directly so I think my issue is in how the power is being sent (or not sent) from the motor blocks.

I ripped the brass buss wires out of the USAT motor block I used in my tram's conversion to battery power. After 20 years, and despite some prior soldering, I found them to be less than reliable in power transmission I hard wired the motor to the ESC unit. Although not used here I do have directional lights on other instalations wired from the same Rx65c reciever/esc used here. My OcCre Madrid tram does not have any working lights as built. Thank you for the reply! I was able to get the lights to work when powered directly from the rails, just connecting the alligator clips to the metal pickups. However I can't seem to get the power to flow from the USAT block correctly. I'll try just throwing a 9v battery in there and seeing what happens. This model does not use LEDs though, so its power input is directly correlated with the brightness of the lights. Ill see how 9v looks and go from there

Ok so the 4 terminals from the power block, 2 are from the track and 2 are to the motor. If my memory is correct they are in pairs 2 centre and 2 outer which way which pair goes is not remembered. But by placing a wire from the track pair to your circuit biard when you have your bogie on the track and track powered will tell you.

I figured it out... sometimes it's the simple things haha. In this case my wiring was fine, the issue was that the lid was not fully closed and I didn't realize there was a metal connector there that disengages the lights when the top is opened. So now everything works! Just needed to shut the roof more
