Not having had much work for the last three weeks,self employed!,I have kept busy by revamping our patio, at least thats what I told SWMBO and as a side project rebuilding the railway.
In doing this project I have also learnt the basics of bricklaying which I found to be very satisfying.
The layout is now basically a circuit with a loop that by-passes the depot area plus a spur which will eventually turn into a branch.There are two main areas, one landscaped and another outside the patio which is plain trackwork on staging.Track is now all LGB/Piko with a minimum of radius three and is laid on either concrete, wooden staging or bricks set in soil and concreted.Ballast is granite chippings.There are four bridges on the line,one removable by the depot,one old tressle and two 'steel' tressles which are made of wood,alloy angle, overflow pipe and coathanger wire.
Power will be via the track at present as I cannot afford radio gear.
Almost ready for clearance tests, hopefully on Sunday when we will see if my K27 will clear the girders on the depot bridge,it will be close!
