Censorship?

There were two threads..
Perhaps they have been merged??

I am finding the Forum very sluggish today.. Sometimes it has taken so long to update, I have hit the Post Reply button a second time, and then had to delete one post.

No, only one thread now, and not merged..
I can not recall who started the second thread, but only saw one comment saying it had already been flagged, and giving the link to that thread..
If it has been removed, I thought the OP got a courtesy message??

I would have thought locking the second thread, with a note pointing to the first, would have been more courteous?

I you had posted within the still-existing thread, then I have no idea.

It was a duplicated thread. I cancelled it. As there was no additional information over the initial thread and only two posts, i did not merge them. A message should have been generated to Van5.

Deletion of postings is matter that I have experienced - and I felt the same way as Van5. I never received a message either.

Yes, bit frustrating I can see - but not really censorship

After all, posting some info about the Snaefell Mountain Railway is hardly controversial :emo::emo::emo:

It's not a mountain, it's a hill..
AND,
It's not a railway, it's a tramway..

It is when you have a reply totally removed that was neither offensive or derogatory, although it may have been a thread drift!

Yep...

It's easy for me to be a bit too dismissive.

'Tis a tricky one - the forum's free, the mods do their bit voluntarily, but you wonder what you've done wrong if your comment goes AWOL.

You can betchyer that I'd be livid if it happened to me :eek::eek: :D:D:D

I feel this is starting to get silly, nobody likes to have a topic pulled, myself included, but this was clear incident of complete duplication, even the link to the news item was identical and therefore superfluous. Should we not just suck it up and get on with playing trains?

I too have had posts disappear. My guess is I forgot to press the 'POST REPLY' button whilst sorting out spellings, attachments etc. or maybe the software glitched.
Nobody died!

Guys, I'm locking this thread now, as its been answred by those concerned.
