I have an old school friend who has lived the past 7 years on a 70' broad beam canal boat. She loves the life, as does one of her son's who bought her previous 40' narrow recreational "butty". Cruises mostly on an annual circuit that includes the Thames, Oxford and Grand Union canals. I make regular visits when she is in my neck of the woods. Max

My batty big brother had a 1:24 canal in his back garden when he was still in Norfolk, RC boats and with a working lock enabled by a WC cistern hidden in the shrubbery. Sadly no pics to hand.
